WHO IS THAT PERSON
Niek van Esch is a Dutch Design Leader and Art Director with 20+ years of experience in strategic leadership, digital transformation, and creative direction. Currently operating at Head of Design level within a major financial services group.
His work spans brand systems, product design, UX strategy, and executive advisory. He has led teams, shaped design cultures, and delivered strategic clarity to organizations navigating complexity.
Niek believes design is not decoration. It is a strategic capability that bridges business intent and human experience. His approach combines creative vision with operational rigor.
Twenty years of leading design through complexity, building team cultures, and coaching creative people under pressure led him to develop Design With Flow ©. A practical framework that gives designers and creative leaders the professional character tools they need to perform clearly, decide confidently, and collaborate effectively.
He's currently writing his first book, Uncaptured.
When not shaping design strategy, he is riding his motorcycle, exploring the decentralized future of finance through Bitcoin, making music, or spending quality time with his family. A balance between adrenaline, innovation, creativity, and what matters most.

MUSIC & CREATIVITY
A trained guitarist and music producer, I composed for Brazil's top broadcast channels. Music taught me about rhythm, harmony, and the power of creative collaboration. Principles I apply to design every day.
CROSS-CULTURAL THINKING
Living in Brazil for 8.5 years fundamentally changed how I see the world. I'm fluent in Dutch, English, and Portuguese, and I believe the best ideas emerge when different perspectives meet.
VISUAL STORYTELLING
From fashion photography to complex user interfaces and SAAS solutions, storytelling has always been the red thread. I blend the aesthetic precision of an Art Director with the strategic mindset of a Product Leader.
